1️⃣ What Does “Reading a Graph” Mean?
Reading a graph means observing values carefully from the x-axis and y-axis and answering questions based on them.
2️⃣ Steps to Read Any Graph Correctly
- Read the title of the graph
- Check what x-axis represents
- Check what y-axis represents
- Note the scale used on both axes
- Locate the point and read its value
3️⃣ Common Exam Questions
- What is the value at a given point?
- At what time/value is something maximum?
- At what point do two lines meet?
- Between which values is the increase maximum?
4️⃣ Example
If a distance–time graph shows:
- Time = 3 hours
- Distance = 120 km
Answer: The distance travelled in 3 hours is 120 km.
5️⃣ How to Write Answers in Exam
- Always mention units (km, hours, °C, etc.)
- Refer to axes while answering
- Write clear and short statements
