1️⃣ What are Graph-Based Word Problems?
Graph-based word problems are questions where we use a given graph to answer real-life questions.
2️⃣ How to Solve Graph-Based Problems?
- Read the question carefully
- Observe the given graph
- Check x-axis and y-axis labels
- Note the scale
- Read values from the graph
- Write the answer clearly with units
3️⃣ Example 1: Distance–Time Graph
A car travels for 4 hours. From the graph, the distance at 4 hours is 200 km.
Answer: The car travelled 200 km in 4 hours.
4️⃣ Example 2: Temperature Graph
If the temperature at 2 PM is 32°C and at 4 PM is 36°C, then:
- Temperature increased by = 36 − 32 = 4°C
5️⃣ Example 3: Comparing Values
If two students’ marks are shown on a graph:
- Student A → 60 marks
- Student B → 75 marks
Answer: Student B scored 15 marks more than Student A.
