Section A – Answers

  1. Square of 9 = 9 × 9 = 81
  2. Square of 15 = 15 × 15 = 225
  3. √25 = 5
  4. Yes, 36 is a perfect square because 6 × 6 = 36.
  5. First three square numbers are 1, 4, 9.

Section B – Answers

  1. 144 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3
    √144 = 2 × 2 × 3 = 12
  2. Square of 23 = 23 × 23 = 529
  3. 50 = 2 × 5 × 5
    Since all factors are not in pairs, 50 is not a perfect square.
  4. 72 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3
    Unpaired factor = 2
    Required number = 2
  5. √196 = 14

Section C – Answers

  1. 180 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 5
    Unpaired factor = 5
    Required number = 5
  2. √1024 = 32
  3. Perfect squares between 1 and 100 are:

    Total = 8 numbers
