Q1. Factorise: 12x + 18

Answer:
Common factor = 6
12x + 18 = 6(2x + 3)
Q2. Factorise: a² − b²

Answer:
a² − b² = (a − b)(a + b)
Q3. Factorise: x² + 7x + 10

Answer:
Find two numbers whose product is 10 and sum is 7
= (x + 5)(x + 2)
Q4. Factorise: 4x² − 9

Answer:
Difference of squares:
4x² − 9 = (2x − 3)(2x + 3)
Q5. Factorise: ax + ay + bx + by

Grouping method:
