STAGE 0: Foundation

In daily life, we collect information 😊

Examples:

  • Number of students in a class
  • Favourite fruits of children
  • Marks obtained in a test

Such information is called data.

STAGE 1: Concepts Explained

What is Data?

Data is a collection of numbers or facts.

Raw Data

Data collected for the first time is called raw data.

Organisation of Data

Data can be organised using:

  • Tally marks
  • Tables

Tally Marks

Tally marks are used to count items easily.

Example:

  • |||| = 4
  • ||||\ = 5

Pictograph

A pictograph represents data using pictures or symbols.

Bar Graph

A bar graph represents data using bars of equal width.

Each bar shows the quantity of data.

Solution:
