Animals are also an important source of food for humans. We get many useful food items from animals.

• Milk – Cow, buffalo, goat
• Eggs – Hen, duck
• Meat – Goat, fish, chicken
• Honey – Honeybees

✔ Milk gives us curd, butter, ghee, cheese and paneer.

🐟 Fisheries

The practice of rearing fish for food is called fisheries.

• Freshwater fish – Rohu, Catla
• Marine fish – Tuna, Pomfret

Rearing of birds like hens for eggs and meat is called poultry farming.
