The practice of growing crops and rearing animals for food, clothing, and other useful products is called agriculture.
Agriculture is one of the oldest occupations of humans and plays a very important role in our daily life.

- Sowing of seeds
- Adding manure and fertilizers
- Irrigation
- Harvesting
- Storage of crops
🌱 Why Do We Need Crops?
- They provide food for humans
- They provide food for animals
- They give raw materials to industries
- They provide employment to farmers
📅 Types of Crops Based on Seasons
In India, crops are divided into two main types based on the season.
1️⃣ Kharif Crops
- Grown in the rainy season
- Sown: June to July
- Harvested: September to October
- Examples: Rice, maize, cotton
2️⃣ Rabi Crops
- Grown in the winter season
- Sown: October to November
- Harvested: March to April
- Examples: Wheat, gram, mustard
