A. Very Short Answer (1 Mark)
1. Write the formula for Simple Interest.
Answer: SI = (P × R × T) / 100
2. What is meant by discount?
Answer: Discount is the reduction given on the marked price.
3. Convert 45% into fraction.
Answer: 45% = 45/100 = 9/20
B. Short Answer (2–3 Marks)
4. Find 20% of 350.
Solution:
20% = 20/100
= (20/100) × 350
= 70
5. CP = ₹800, SP = ₹920. Find gain and gain %.
Solution:
Gain = SP − CP = 920 − 800 = ₹120
Gain % = (120 / 800) × 100 = 15%
6. Find SI on ₹2000 at 5% per annum for 3 years.
Solution:
SI = (2000 × 5 × 3) / 100
= ₹300
C. Long Answer (5 Marks)
7. A shirt is marked at ₹1200. A discount of 25% is given.
(i) Find the discount.
(ii) Find the selling price.
Solution:
Discount = (25/100) × 1200 = ₹300
Selling Price = MP − Discount
= 1200 − 300
= ₹900
8. Find the amount after 2 years if ₹5000 is invested at 10% per annum.
Solution:
SI = (5000 × 10 × 2) / 100 = ₹1000
Amount = P + SI
= 5000 + 1000
= ₹6000
