Q1. Find the area of a square whose side is 14 cm.

Solution:

Side = 14 cm

Area of square = side × side

= 14 × 14

= 196 cm²

Q2. Find the volume of a cuboid of length 8 cm, breadth 6 cm and height 5 cm.

Solution:

Length = 8 cm

Breadth = 6 cm

Height = 5 cm

Volume of cuboid = l × b × h

= 8 × 6 × 5

= 240 cm³

Q3. Find the curved surface area of a cylinder of radius 3.5 cm and height 10 cm.

Solution:

Radius = 3.5 cm

Height = 10 cm

CSA = 2πrh

= 2 × (22/7) × 3.5 × 10

= 220 cm²

Q4. Find the total surface area of a cube whose side is 7 cm.

Solution:

Side = 7 cm

TSA of cube = 6a²

= 6 × 7²

= 6 × 49

= 294 cm²

Q5. Find the area of a circle of radius 7 cm.

Solution:

Radius = 7 cm

Area of circle = πr²

= (22/7) × 7 × 7

= 154 cm²
