Instructions: All questions are compulsory. Use π = 22/7 unless stated otherwise.

SECTION A – Very Short Answer (1 × 6 = 6 marks)

  1. Write the formula for volume of a cube.
  2. What is the unit of volume?
  3. How many faces does a cuboid have?
  4. Write the formula for area of a circle.
  5. If side of a square is 5 cm, write its area formula.
  6. Which solid has circular base?

SECTION B – Short Answer (2 × 6 = 12 marks)

  1. Find the volume of a cube of side 4 cm.
  2. Find the area of a rectangle of length 8 cm and breadth 6 cm.
  3. Write any two differences between cube and cuboid.
  4. Find the circumference of a circle of radius 7 cm.
  5. Find the area of a triangle with base 10 cm and height 6 cm.
  6. State the formula for curved surface area of a cylinder.

SECTION C – Long Answer (4 × 4 = 16 marks)

  1. Find the total surface area of a cube whose side is 7 cm.
  2. Find the volume of a cuboid of dimensions 10 cm × 5 cm × 4 cm.
  3. The radius of a cylinder is 7 cm and height is 10 cm. Find its volume.
  4. Find the area of a circle whose diameter is 14 cm.

SECTION D – Case Study / HOTS (6 marks)

A water tank is in the shape of a cylinder. The radius of the base is 3.5 m and height is 10 m.

  1. Write the formula to find volume of the tank.
  2. Find the volume of the tank.
  3. If 1 m³ = 1000 litres, find capacity in litres.
