Q1. What do you mean by a 3D object?

Answer:
A 3D object is an object which has length, breadth and height. Such objects occupy space. Examples of 3D objects are cube, cuboid, cone, cylinder and sphere.

Q2. What are faces, edges and vertices?

Answer:

  • Face: A flat surface of a solid shape.
  • Edge: The line segment where two faces meet.
  • Vertex: The point where edges meet.

Q3. Write the number of faces, edges and vertices of a cube.

Answer:

  • Faces = 6
  • Edges = 12
  • Vertices = 8

Q4. What is a net of a solid?

Answer:
A net is a flat shape which can be folded to form a 3D object. Nets help us understand the faces of a solid clearly.

Q5. What are the different views of a solid?

Answer:

  • Top View: View from above.
  • Front View: View from the front.
  • Side View: View from the side.

Q6. What do you understand by rotation?

Answer:
Rotation means turning an object around a fixed point. Rotation does not change the shape or size of the object.
