These changes are called weather. The average weather condition of a place over a long time is called climate.
Weather

- Wind speed
Climate
Climate is the average weather condition of a place over many years.
Different places have different climates like: hot, cold, rainy, or dry.
Adaptation
Adaptation is the special feature or habit that helps animals live comfortably in their surroundings.
Adaptations in Polar Regions
Polar regions are extremely cold.
Example: Polar Bear
- Thick fur to keep warm
- Layer of fat under skin
- White colour for camouflage
Adaptations in Tropical Rainforests
Tropical rainforests are hot and receive heavy rainfall.
Examples:
- Monkey – long tail helps in climbing
- Elephant – large ears help in cooling
- Frog – sticky pads for climbing
