1. Meaning of Equality
Equality means treating all people equally and giving them equal rights, opportunities and respect. In a democratic country like India, every citizen is considered equal before the law.
- No person is above the law.
- All citizens have equal rights.
- Equality ensures justice and fairness.

India is a democratic country. Democracy cannot survive without equality. The Indian Constitution guarantees equality to all citizens.
- Right to Equality is a Fundamental Right.

Discrimination means treating people unfairly because of their caste, religion, gender, language or economic condition.
